My 5 Favorite Exercises Using Lacrosse Balls – Video

For Self Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Massage

Lacrosse Balls for self myofascial release

Want to know the best way to release trigger points in your muscles? Do you have a tennis ball at home? Great! You can use it to play fetch with your dog. But for releasing tension in specific muscles, I recommend using a Lacrosse Ball. It is slightly smaller than a tennis ball and much more firm – perfect for targeting small areas of tension…

I also use a foam roller for myofascial release and improving flexibility in general areas of the body, but for several specific areas that need more direct pressure, I go with a Lacrosse Ball.

The Lacrosse Ball That I Recommend For Physical Therapy

You can get a pair of Kieba Lacrosse Balls on Amazon for just under $10. I recommend this brand, the same ones I use and the highest rated Lacrosse Balls on Amazon for two reasons:

  1. They are extremely durable
  2. They don’t have a seam that sticks out from the middle, which most other brands do – this can be irritating and also leave unpleasant marks on your body.

Here is the link to Amazon where you can order a Set of 2 Kieba Lacrosse Balls

I love working with the Lacrosse ball. I find attacking the gluteus medius area very helpfull for low back pain relief and I like to work on the pec minor/major area in upright position against the corner of a wall.
    Great post, thanks!
    Regards, Tom

      Both are great!
